ABOUT THE YOUTH

Welcome to our Youth page.  God is an awesome God. At the Shepherd's House Open Bible Church the young people (ages 12-marriage) are a blessing to the church. We have young people that truly love God and who desire to see Him use them for His glory. We are excited about being in Christ and serving Him and look forward to seeing what He does through our lives. We thank God that the love of Jesus Christ flows within our youth group. Without Him, we would be nothing.

Our Youth Staff is made up of five individuals who are responsible for organizing activities, first of all, to keep the youth growing spiritually and then keep them active in Christ. We are to work together to plan and organize things such as youth services, campaigns, outside activities, times of fellowship and fun, and anything else that is Christ centered and youth oriented. But more than being a team who organizes and plans, we understand that we are called to a position of leadership and are required to walk a walk with Christ that does not play games. The importance of servant hood, being an example and a watchman are matters that we believe matter. Currently, the youth staff is made up of:

Our Youth group has various ministries within itself. By the grace of God, we are allowed to discover our gifts and individual ministries through "mini" ministries that exist within the youth. All of these ministries fall under one ministry which is known as "Youth With A Vision." Youth With A Vision is overseen by our youth pastor Allyson DeLisle.  Pastor Allyson is one who believes in a "youth church" and allow us to operate in various ways.

Worship Team- "Warriors of Worship."
Once a month, our Youth Worship Team participates and leads the church in worship devotionals. During those days, our Youth Worship Team also gathers for early morning fasting and prayer in order to lead the people of God into His Presence. On other occasions, we have been privileged with the opportunity to minister in other congregations. God has truly used this ministry to bless many. All thanks to Him.

Newsletter Ministry
Leader- Jennifer Galvez
Hi, my name is Jenny E. Galvez. I am 19 years old and a college student. As the editor of the Youth with a Vision Newsletter my objective is to inform, entertain and give an update to the congregation about the youth. But it is also my goal to use the newsletter as an instrument to reveal about God's love, greatness and power to those who may not know about the Lord. It is my responsibility to make sure that the material is constructive and beneficial to the readers as well. Evangelism Ministry
Leader- Jovian Miranda
God Bless you. My name is Jovian A. Miranda and I'm a 21-year old college student. Upon Matthew 9:35-38, this ministry is constructed to gather those who are lost and in need and bring them to Jesus Christ as well as build up its members to be more effective in the field of evangelism through His Word. Wherever the need is, the mission is to bring them the life-giving Word of God and let them know who Jesus truly is so that they could see that He is what they need. Learning as I go along, I look forward to alot of labor in 2003. May God have His way through us all by His Word and His Spirit.

Greetings in the wonderful name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  My name is Shay Lewis. I am 19 years old and I'm a senior in high school. We are a group of youth fired up for Christ and are thirsty to worship God with the talent God has blessed us with. I envision us being used tremendously by God- I see the anointing of God flowing as we sing and thousands being saved. I believe that with a lot of prayer, God is going to take us from one level to another. It is an honor to be chosen for this work.

Pantomime Ministry
Leader-Shay Lewis
The Pantomime Ministry is a unique ministry which combines dancing and miming to Christian songs and skits. Beginning in late 2001, God has turned this work from a special during services into a ministry with vision. Because this ministry is hungry to see God minister to people's lives, each member of the group knows that it is more than just body movements; it is about worshiping God with your whole body and spirit. There is no place for entertainment. As we go forward in Christ and seek His face, we trust that the hand of the Lord will be upon us when we are called to minister.
